The Twisted Olive

Greek cuisine is the flavour du jour and so it is a very happy thing indeed that this casual diner has opened on one of Sydney’s most popular eat streets, Bourke Street, Redfern. This cosy taverna with its bar, indoor and outdoor seating (with doggies allowed to dine alfresco) and takeaway service has become a fast favourite with Sydney’s inner-city diners. The family owned restaurant is laid back and serves up authentic homestyle Greek cuisine. Dining here is inexpensive, and the servings are full of fresh and delectable flavours. From the Cypriot grain salad and stone grill prawns to the home-made chocolate yoghurt cake, you will be licking your lips and wanting more. The menu is succinct, there are plenty of options for banqueting when larger celebrations are in order and the drinks list offers a good selection of local as well as Greek wines. For olives, taramasalata and Greek dishes with a twist, visit this inner-city Mediterranean haven.
