The Pickled Duck

More than a café, this contemporary and chic eatery has its own pizza oven and serves a delicious assortment of gourmet pizzas, an extensive and creative burger selection – like pulled duck, the mac ‘n’ cheeseburger or the vegetarian Swiss mushroom burger – great starters and hearty super salads. But it is the dessert menu that grabs the attention and taste buds of many who visit here. Created with great panache and attention to detail, Pickled Duck hits the spot with off the chart sweets including, dessert nachos and churros. The shakes also exceed expectations. They are beautifully presented, piled high with sugary accompaniments and include flavours like popping caramel, the banoffee and tiramisu. The wine list is excellent, and a visit here is the chance to sample a great selection of craft beers from some of South Australia’s finest microbreweries. Located right next to Civic Park in Modbury, The Pickled Duck does not take bookings, but the large dining space means they can always find you a place at the table, even on the busiest of days. A delightful, ducky and delicious destination for young and for old.
