Mr Ed Cafe

The recipe is simple at this bustling café: tasty food, great (Campos) coffee and excellent service. Mr Ed’s is not a huge diner: it is intimate, personable and lovingly decked out with wall murals, artworks, glass pendant lights and a blackboard menu. These things make for a great atmosphere whether eating at Mr Ed Café during the day or at night. One of Flemington’s best, there are plenty of regular visitors to this café, craving the fresh and contemporary breakfasts like the house-smoked salmon, saltbush benedict eggs and ricotta and hazelnut pancakes. Breakfasts bleed into lunch with delicious gnocchi or the soft-shell crab burger, either of which go down beautifully with one of the crisp wines or craft beers on offer on the tight and smartly chosen beverage list. From 5.30pm, Mr Ed feeds Melbourne’s affair with the burger. You can choose from nine types of burgers which are filled with mind blowing flavour combinations. The gorgeous gourmet side dishes are equally satisfying, like the amazing merlot pickled onion rings or mixed pickle plate. When next in the neighbourhood, bustle your way to this fabulous diner.
