Kotaraya Restaurant

This eating house has been welcoming diners for two decades. It is so well-loved that even when locals re-locate, or foodies visit Melbourne, they are sure to include a fix of delicious Kotaraya Asian fusion on their dining-out agenda. The Kotaraya kitchen believes that food is the common human thread, a universal experience. You can sense the love of food in the eating. There are great hawker food offerings such as mee goreng, Singapore noodles and curry laksa. Rendang curry, coconut butter king prawns and nyona prawns are all standouts. On Sundays it is time for a chicken roast, Kotaraya style: Hainanese boneless chicken rice or roast chicken rice are both on offer. The eating room is simple, the kitchen industrious and masterful, and the floor staff young and ready to help when it’s time to choose from the extensive menu. Be sure to book as Sunday roasts are hugely popular with Elsternwick locals. Seriously, could there be better way to wrap up the weekend? Delish!
