Kapitan Asian, Crab & Fusion Restaurant

What a special little dining place. Exposed brick walls, mud grey and celadon green tones, white spherical pendant lamps light the bar, the dining room at Kapitan is intimate and elegant. Visit here to experience the best kind of 21st century Asian dining in Melbourne. An amalgam of Thai, Malaysian and Chinese influences, the menu definitely slants toward the ocean. People come here for all sorts of delicious Asian seafood creations, but it is the crab which is the house specialty. You can order it ten different ways! Presentation is careful, considered and particular and the flavour combinations are most excellent. Enjoy coconut prawns served in a husked and hulled coconut, delicate scallop waffles topped with shallots and ginger and crispy skin duck stuffed with bamboo shoots and rice. This is an excellent dining spot to experience. Get to Hawthorn as soon as you can and go see the Kapitan.
