Green Gourmet Newtown

This family owned and run restaurant has been serving up fresh, hearty servings of Asian-style vegan cuisine for over twenty years. With locations on both sides of the Harbour Bridge – Newtown and St Leonards – Green Gourmet enjoys a loyal and ever-increasing clientele. Green Gourmet is truly a part of the vegan dining landscape. Produce is fresh, and meals are free from meat, egg and dairy products. The kitchen also omits onion and garlic from their cooking as these ingredients are considered unsettling and contrary to the philosophy of the restaurant which strives to provide nutritious meals to benefit and nourish body and mind. The plant-based food is flavoursome and filling and diners can choose between à la carte or buffet dining. The menu is extensive and the servings are generous and inexpensive. Be sure to sample the really interesting and exciting desserts like the Golden Gaytime, vegan brownies or deep-fried ice cream. Of its time and in a class of its own, Green Gourmet is bound to be a fixture in Newtown and St Leonards for many a year to come.
