To find Goong Restaurant, look for the eye-catching bright pink cherry blossom lights just inside the front door. You’ll know you are in the right place when you are welcomed in by the extremely friendly staff at this Cairns restaurant which serves Japanese and Korean cuisine. The dining room is spacious, airy and clean and Goong is a great destination for relaxed family dining. Presentation is meticulous and ingredients are fresh, fresh, fresh. Bento boxes, huge sushi boats to share, tuna tataki and spicy calamari are all highly recommended and the agedashi tofu, takoyaki and kimchi pancakes are excellent. For beer lovers and connoisseurs of ale, a special mention to the beer list which includes Orion beer, produced in Okinawa and hard to find in Australia. A visit here makes for interesting and tasty dining. Get going to Goong for fantastic Asian dining in the tropical north.
