African Village Centre Restaurant

For something completely different, African Village Centre Restaurant is the opportunity to experience and explore some of the best Ethiopian food served up in Adelaide. It really is a rich and traditional Ethiopian experience from the décor, light fittings and, of course, the food. Ethiopian cuisine is rustic and wholesome. Meals are served and shared from the same plate, symbolising familial bonds, friendship and generosity. This is salt of the earth dining, from the food to the generous and attentive service. Flavours are robust and satisfying, and the meals are beautifully presented. Try the injera – meat and vegetable stew is piled above an unleavened bread, the juices soaking through to the bread which is then scooped up for a delicious food fest – or experience the traditional coffee ceremony where beans are roasted over coals before being ground, brewed and served in small cups called cini. Like the shared serving plate, this is a symbol of hospitality and friendship. The African Village Centre Restaurant is a superb cultural and culinary experience.
